MTS PCB LAYOUT DESIGNER
The AMD Server Platform Design Team is seeking a PCB Layout Designer to create unique PCB solutions for industry leading and cutting-edge CPU technology. As a project team member, you will work closely with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers. The PCB Layout Designer?s main responsibility is creation of PCB layouts and revisions (ECN). PCB designs are ultimately presented to the team, and once approved, you are responsible for finalizing the drawing, documentation, and technical data packages required to release for PCB fabrication. The Server Design Team fosters and encourages?technical innovation?as well as facilitates continuous career development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Interpreting schematic diagrams and general floor planning requirements utilizing preliminary sketches, diagrams, white board drawings, electronic data files and other engineering information to generate PCB designs Executing detailed designs for printed circuit boards conforming to IPC and department standards using PCB design CAD tool. Coordinating with various disciplines affected by design development. Read and interpret technical documents and communicate description of technical solutions with respect to PCB technology products. Perform independent reviews of the designs. Self-check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications Coordinate with EMC & Build Services engineers to facilitate design reviews as they relate to PCB layout and design for manufacturability. Incorporate Engineering Change Notices (ECN) on PCB layouts Prototype library component symbol creation (limited quantities) Scripting/programming skills with respect to Allegro CAD Custom Tools are preferred Hands on lab tech experience is preferred
PREFFERED EXPERIENCE 5+ years? experience as ECAD designer 2+ years recent experience with full time Cadence Allegro IPC CID or CID+ certification Familiarity with applicable industry (IPC) design standards Experience with Constraint Manager rules and interpreting their implementation in the layout. Experience with layout of mixed analog and digital designs, high speed buses, PCIE Gen4, Processor Interconnect , DDR4, FPGA, DRAM, CPU designs, power supplies, DC-DC converters, transmission lines, impedance controlled traces and power traces Understanding of Printed Circuit Board fabrication and design for manufacturability (DFM & DFA) along with experience using Valor, CAM350, or similar tools Ability to self-direct and self-motivate, work in multidisciplinary teams with minimal supervision, prioritize work in a fast paced, dynamic environment High level of design quality and attention to detail are a must!
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: AAS or higher degree in Electronics related study at an Accredited School
