Candidate must possess at least Degree/Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering / Software Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent.

An exciting career opportunity as Software Engineer (Automation) is available for one of the most prominent manufacturing company in Penang. This role is responsible to design and develop software and conduct troubleshooting using appropriate platform. Reports directly to the Engineering Manager the company.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Responsible and accountable for the functionality of the developed software and system control of automation machine (PLC based solution).

Carry out troubleshooting, testing and installation on the automation software on the machines.

To carry out automation software development or involves in electrical and electronics installation during machine assembly.

Perform automation software study and adopt the latest technology into software and system control development.

Prepare PLC base program to control the machine or system sequence and function.

Able to ensure the project or system is developed as agreed specification by performing step by step and systematic test & debugging activities to the project or system

Update job knowledge by studying state-of-art development tools, programming techniques with teams, customers, or suppliers.

Compile and document the related information into project backup document and generate user manual, FAT, SAT requirements for the related project properly

Provide software training to internal team and customers

Experience Requirements:

Candidate must possess at least Degree/Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering / Software Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent.

At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

Must possess knowledge in C# or C++ programming

PLC programming experience using Allen Bradley, Omron, Siemens, Beckhoff.

Experience in design and develop automation systems will be added as advantages.

Skill(s): PLC, robotics exposure, machine vision, electronics wiring and programming.

Great troubleshooting skills in related to software programming.

Excellent skills in the areas of written and communication, interpersonal working relationships, leadership, planning and organizing.

Good oral and written communication skills in English and Mandarin is preferred.
